Catholic Health and Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame (LIMEHOF) announced the launch of Health and Harmony, a multifaceted program designed to engage, educate and inspire New Yorkers on the positive effects of music on their health. The new program was introduced at the Catholic Health Amphitheater at Bald Hill during the Pat Benatar/Taylor Dayne concert held on July 23.
The Health and Harmony program was developed with Catholic Health certified music therapists to support wellness through music and provide new tools to help find inner calm, boost motivation and feel better about life.
“At Catholic Health, we believe in the science that clearly shows music is good for you,” said Catholic Health President & CEO Patrick M. O’Shaughnessy, DO, MBA. “We are thrilled to have teamed up with The Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame to create this comprehensive program and show people the many ways in which music can support their well-being.”
To begin, the Health and Harmony website allows visitors to take a self-assessment, which connects them to a playlist based on how they are feeling. Currently, more than a dozen music playlists have been created featuring LIMEHOF Long Island inductees to help with a wide range of health issues. The Health and Harmony website also offers resources including self-care tips, news, research and events.
“Music is a universal experience and though it is shared, it is also a very personal art form which makes it a valuable self-care tool and part of your overall wellness journey,” said LIMEHOF President Ernie Canadeo. “We’re proud to partner with Catholic Health on this unique program and look forward to helping it evolve.”
