16th Annual Long Island International Film Expo: And the Winners Are...
Bellmore, NY - July 30th, 2013 - The Closing Night Party and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, July 25 marked the end of the 16th Annual Long Island International Film Expo. After a jam-packed week of great films, informative panels and special events the stars were out at the Bellmore Movies to celebrate LIIFE 2013 and honor the Award Ceremony Recipients.
Kevin Brown (30 Rock) hosted the Awards Ceremony and Ally Sheedy, William Sadler and Judith Roberts were on hand to receive their awards. Among the presenters were Federico Castelluccio (The Sopranos) and Anthony Laciura (Boardwalk Empire) and William Sadler and Ally Sheedy presented some awards as well as receiving their own.
Debra Markowitz, Festival Director/Director of the Nassau County Film Office said, “Everyone who was accepted into LIIFE is already a winner, and the fact that more filmmakers submit to LIIFE and return year after year because of the film community that LIIFE fosters, makes it as important an event for the filmmakers as it is for the public.” As per Eli Hershko, winner of Best Story for his movie, Carla, “I’ve participated in LIIFE before, and I’ve been part of this incredible film community, but I never realized more than I did this year, that LIIFE is OUR film festival. LIIFE belongs to the filmmakers. You don’t get that anywhere else.”
