Brookhaven Supervisor Panico Announces Fines for Illegal Dumping on Bellport Avenue in Medford

According to the Town Attorney’s Office, the Defendant was assessed the chargeback fees for the cleanup and disposal of the boat as well as a $3,250.00 fine.

Brookhaven Supervisor Dan Panico has announced that the Brookhaven Town Attorney’s Office has successfully prosecuted an incident of illegal dumping of a debris-filled boat, a violation of section 45-4(K)(1) of the Brookhaven Town Code, on Bellport Avenue in Medford. 
 
The incident, which was caught on video, occurred on May 10, 2024. The Brookhaven Town Department of Public Safety, Department of Recycling and Sustainable Materials Management and the Town Attorney’s Office utilized a new remote camera system to identify the responsible party. 
 
According to the Town Attorney’s Office, the Defendant was assessed the chargeback fees for the cleanup and disposal of the boat as well as a $3,250.00 fine.
