The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that the ramp from the northbound Wantagh State Parkway to the westbound Northern State Parkway in the Town of North Hempstead, Nassau County, will be closed on Tuesday, August 1 and Thursday, August 3 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., weather permitting, to facilitate highway maintenance.   

Motorists will be directed onto eastbound Northern State Parkway to Exit 34 towards Brush Hollow Road and then turn left onto the westbound entrance ramp.

Motorists are urged to plan accordingly and drive responsibly in work zones.  Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.  Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
