FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 AM EDT THIS MORNING * WHAT...Ongoing flooding caused by excessive rainfall. * WHERE...A portion of southeast New York, including the following county, Suffolk. * WHEN...Until 1030 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Expect many areas of standing water. Numerous basements and several ground level structures remain flooded. Isolated sinkholes are possible. In addition, flooding along creeks, streams, ponds, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 438 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Flooding is ongoing in the warned area. Between 6 and 10 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue into the morning commute, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Woman Beaten with Baseball Bats, Robbed While Walking on Mineola Street, Cops Say

The victim suffered bruising, abrasions and pain to her left knee and right elbow. Her two front teeth were also chipped.

The Third Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred in Mineola on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 2:15 am.
 
According to detectives, a 45-year-old female victim was walking north on Mineola Boulevard in the vicinity of Jericho Turnpike when she was approached by three unknown subjects whom had exited out of a white hatchback vehicle all wearing black clothes and carrying baseball bats. All three subjects hit the victim using their bats.
 
Subject one hit the victim on the back of her neck causing her shirt to tear exposing money she hid in her blouse. The subjects then removed and undetermined amount of US currency and fled in an unknown direction after getting back into their vehicle. 
 
The victim suffered bruising, abrasions and pain to her left knee and right elbow. Her two front teeth were also chipped. The victim later went to a nearby hospital on her own and was treated for her injuries.
 
Subject one and two are both described as being male, unknown race, 5’10” tall, thin build, black pants, black shirt, black mask.
 
Subject three was male, unknown race, 5’6” tall, medium build, black pants, black shirt, black mask.
