The Third Squad reports the arrest of a Roosevelt man for an incident that occurred on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 1:13 am in East Meadow.

According to Detectives, Third Precinct officers responded to Eisenhower Park for a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers were informed by Nassau County Public Safety officers that multiple people were trespassing under the pavilion near field one. Officers located the subjects, informed them that they were trespassing and ordered them to leave. The defendant, Getho Brevette, 27, of 52 Park Avenue, became verbally combative and refused to leave.

The defendant removed a scissor from his bag and swung them at the officers in a threatening manner. Officers drew their Electronic Control Device (ECD) and ordered the defendant to drop the scissors. The defendant threw the scissors striking one of the officers in the chest.  The officers deployed their ECDs which caused the defendant to fall to the ground and officers were able to place him under arrest. The defendant was removed by a Nassau County Police Ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation. No injuries were reported.

Defendant Brevette is charged with two counts of Attempted Assault 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, Menacing a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree and Trespass. He will be arraigned on Friday, August 2, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead. Defendant Brevette has been previously arrested six times within the last thirty-three days.

His last arrest was on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 and he was released on an Appearance ticket returnable to First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
