AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Inwood, NY - August 5th, 2014 - The Fourth Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 11:30 pm in Inwood.

According to detectives, a 58 year old male victim was walking home when six unknown male black subjects (no further description) riding bicycles approached the victim as he entered his driveway located on Jeanette Avenue. All subjects surrounded the victim and began punching him in the head causing him to fall to the ground. The subjects then removed his cell phone from his pocket and then fled on their bicycles in an unknown direction. The victim suffered contusions and abrasions to the head and face. He was transported by a Nassau County Police Ambulance to a local nearby hospital for treatment.

Detectives request that anyone with information regarding this crime to contact the Nassau County Police Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
