AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING An Air Quality Health Advisory remains in effect for the following counties: Nassau and Suffolk. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of ground level ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Silver Alert: Schizophrenic Setauket Woman Missing

The Suffolk County Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for a missing Setauket woman who is schizophrenic.

Setauket, NY - August 5th, 2014 - The Suffolk County Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for a missing Setauket woman who is schizophrenic.

Dale Cherney, 28, was last seen on Sunday, 8/3/14, at 8 p.m. at her residence, located at 151 Old Field Road. Relatives fear that she is vulnerable because she has not taken her medication and may be disoriented and/or unpredictable.

She is described as a white female, 5 feet 3 inches tall, 135 pounds with long brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about her location is requested to contact Sixth Squad detectives at 631-854-8652.

As a reminder, Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have been reported missing.
