AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Kathryn S. Wylde and Rhonda Herman Will Serve as the Governor's Appointees on New Panel That Will Make Recommendations on Ways to Improve and Fund Public Transit.

Albany, NY - August 6, 2018 - Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today appointed Kathryn S. Wylde and Rhonda Herman to serve on the Metropolitan Transportation Sustainability Advisory Group, a panel established under the 2018-19 New York State Budget and tasked with making recommendations on strategies to improve and fund public transit in the New York City region.
 
Kathryn S. Wylde
Kathryn Wylde is President and CEO of the nonprofit Partnership for New York City, the city's leading business organization. Prior to taking over the Partnership presidency in 2001, Wylde was the founding CEO of both the Partnership's housing and investment fund affiliates.
 
She serves on a number of boards and advisory groups, including the NYC Economic Development Corporation, the Fund for Public Schools, Manhattan Institute, Sponsors for Educational Opportunity and the Governor's NYC Regional Economic Development Council and his Fix NYC panel.
 
Prior to joining the Partnership, Wylde worked in senior positions at the former Anchor Savings Bank and at Lutheran Medical Center in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Wylde is a graduate of St. Olaf College,'68, and resides in Brooklyn, New York.  
 
Rhonda Herman
Ms. Herman has served on the Metro-North Railroad Commuter Council since 2008.
 
She has worked at Internal Revenue Service (1982-Current) and she has held various management positions in Information Systems, Small Business Self Employed and the Wage & Investment Divisions. She was s Girl Scout Troop Leader for 12 years and Co-president of the White Plains HS PTA. She now serves as Co-Chair of the Senior PTA Scholarship Recognition Program.
 
Ms. Herman holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from City University's Bernard Baruch College.
 
Ms. Herman lives in White Plains and commutes on the Harlem Line from White Plains.
