One Man Shot to Death, One Wounded During Home Burglary in Medford

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the shooting of two men, one fatally, during a burglary at a home in Medford last night.

Medford, NY - August 8th, 2013 - Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the shooting of two men, one fatally, during a burglary at a home in Medford last night.

Sixth Precinct officers responded to 26 Gray Ave. after a 911 caller reported that two men had entered the home and, after a struggle with a resident, they began shooting. When officers arrived, they found Jeremy Phillips, 25, of Coram, dead from a gunshot wound.

Jermel Bonaparte, 28, a resident of the home, was shot in the face and was taken to an area hospital where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
