AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Silver Alert: Yaphank Man Suffering from Dementia Missing

The Suffolk County Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for a missing Yaphank man who suffers from dementia.

Yaphank, NY - August 11, 2015 - The Suffolk County Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for a missing Yaphank man who suffers from dementia.

Robert Barrett, 75, was last seen leaving his home at 128 Gerard Road in Yaphank at approximately 7:45 p.m. last evening. He left in a 2012 Red Honda Accord with a New York license plate either BKP 4308 or GYW7298 and he was heading to the Rite Aid store located at 700 CR101 in Medford.

Barrett is described as a white male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, approximately 225 pounds. He has white hair, brown eyes and he currently has a beard and a moustache. He was wearing long, dark pants, a black short-sleeve shirt, and sandals. He is also wearing a silver bracelet and carries a wallet containing his ID with him.

Anyone with information about Robert Barrett’s location is asked to contact Sixth Squad detectives at 631-854-8652 or call 911.

As a reminder, Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have been reported missing.
