Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D - Lawrence) recently partnered with New York State Assembly Member Michaelle Solages, Empowering Young Professionals of Long Island, Affinity Health Plan, Young Muslims, and Masjid Hamza to support ICNA Relief’s “Back-2-School Backpack Event."

During the event, students received new backpacks, folders, glue, scissors, colored pencils, and other back-to-school essentials, and had the opportunity to play games on a gaming truck and enjoy ice cream, cotton candy, popcorn and so much more.

“Thanks to our generous partners, hundreds of students will start the school year with essential school supplies and minds full of enthusiasm for the new school year,” Legislator Solages said. “This team of community stakeholders made this event a great success, and I am very thankful to have had the opportunity to partner with them.”
