Freeport Man Facing Multiple Charges After Allegedly Assaulting Woman with Firearm

The First Squad reports the arrest of a Freeport man for an Assault that occurred on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 10:00 p.m. in Roosevelt.

According to Detectives, defendant Darryl Goins, 64, of 186 Prince Street, physically assaulted and used a firearm to threaten a 29-year-old female victim. The assault occurred in the vicinity of Greenwich Avenue and Nassau Road.
 
The defendant fled the scene and the victim refused medical attention at scene. Detectives located defendant Goins in Amityville where they placed him under arrest and recovered a firearm. 
 
Defendant Goins is charged with Menacing 2nd Degree, Assault 3rd Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Firearm. He will be arraigned on Friday, August 16, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street in Hempstead.
