The Valley Stream community joined Assemblywoman Michaelle C. Solages and the Village of Valley Stream on Saturday, August 10th for the 19th Annual Simon’s Valley Stream Jazz Festival at the Valley Stream Bandshell.
This year’s lineup featured performances from Buyu Ambroise, Yayoi Ikawa, CESIMI, Smooth Jude, Suresh Ketwaru, Santana y Orquesta La Elegancia, and SPACE.
The festival drew crowds from across the region to showcase the diverse musical acts Simon’s Valley Stream Jazz Festival has become known for. This year’s event marked the second year at the Valley Stream Bandshell after starting as a backyard festival in 2003. “Simon’s Valley Stream Jazz Festival showcases the best of our community,” said Assemblywoman Michaelle C. Solages. “What started as a backyard jazz concert has become a community-wide event attended by music lovers across our area. I want to thank Dr. Simon, the talented artists, the Village of Valley Stream, our local food vendors, and our event sponsors for helping carry on this wonderful tradition for another successful year.”
