Great Neck, NY - August 19, 2016 - The Great Neck Water Pollution Control District (GNWPCD) recently hosted City of Long Beach City Manager Jack Schnirman to tour the District’s facility at 236 East Shore Road in Great Neck, NY. The Honorable Jack Schnirman was visiting to observe the District’s energy efficient and environmentally friendly wastewater treatment process.

The District was recently awarded the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) New York Engineering Excellence Platinum Award for its microturbine cogeneration facility, which aids in powering its wastewater treatment and saves taxpayers in excess of $110,000 annually. During the tour, the Honorable Jack Schnirman was able to observe firsthand the effectiveness of the District’s state-of-the-art facility with an eye toward exploring options for the City of Long Beach.
