Lindenhurst, NY – August 20, 2013 – Deputy Presiding Officer Wayne Horsley, in conjunction with the Long Island Blood Services, teams up with Lindenhurst Memorial Library for a Summer Community Blood Drive. The blood drive will be held Monday, July 15, 2013 from 2pm to 8pm at the Lindenhurst Library.
Horsley states “I am proud to partner with Lindenhurst Library and LI Blood Services at a time when blood donations are urgently needed across Long Island. Blood supplies are extremely limited at this time of year due to summer vacations and schedules that are busier than normal.
There are no vacations for LI Blood Services. The need for blood is always present. I urge you to join me and give the gift of life to patients who rely on the generosity of blood donors each and every day.”
The blood drive will be held on Monday, July 15th at the Lindenhurst Memorial Library located at 1 Lee Avenue at the corner of S. Wellwood Ave. Hours to donate begin at 2:00 p.m. and end at 8:00 p.m.
Donors must bring picture ID; must be a minimum of 110 lbs.; age restricted to persons between 17 years and 75 years of age (over 76 years requires a doctor’s note); no tattoos within the last 12 months.
