Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating a murder-suicide that occurred in Ronkonkoma on Thursday, August 22.
Valentin Hernandez called 911 at approximately 10:10 a.m. and said he shot his wife in their home, located on Breezy Ave. When Fourth Precinct officers arrived, they found both Hernandez, and his wife, Dorothea, with gunshot wounds.
The couple, both 90, was pronounced dead at the scene by a member of the Lakeland Fire Department.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
