Police Report Deer Park Man Arrested for Possessing Child Pornography

Suffolk County Police on Tuesday, August 20 arrested a Deer Park man for possessing child pornography.
 
Following tips from the New York State Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Suffolk County Police Digital Forensics Unit detectives conducted an investigation into Joseph Kirincic. With the assistance of First Precinct officers, a search warrant was executed at Kirincic’s home, located at 50 East 6th St.
 
During the investigation it was determined Kirincic had child pornography on his cellphone and was exchanging child sexual abuse material through a messaging application. Kirincic was arrested at his home today at 3 p.m.
 
Kirincic, 51, was charged with Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child. Kirincic will be held overnight at the Third Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on August 21.
 
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Digital Forensics Unit at 631-852-6279.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
