Nabbed in the Act: Two Juveniles in Custody After Breaking into Cedarhurst Vehicle

The two juveniles fled on foot but were soon tracked down and apprehended by police.

The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of two (2) male juveniles for Grand Larceny that occurred on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 2:22 am in Cedarhurst.
 
According to detectives, a Fourth Precinct officer while on patrol observed a male juvenile standing in the middle of Pearsall Avenue. As the officer approached the juvenile, he ran towards a parked vehicle that was in the parking lot opposite 398 Pearsall Avenue. 
 
As the juvenile approached the parked vehicle the officer observed a second juvenile exiting the vehicle. The officer observed broken glass next to the vehicle and both juveniles fled westbound on foot. After a thorough investigation both juveniles were located in the close vicinity and were placed into police custody without further incident.
 
Both juveniles are charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree. Both were issued appearance tickets and will be arraigned on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Family Court, 1200 Old Country Road, Westbury.
