AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 11 PM EDT MONDAY The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following counties: New York, Bronx, Kings, Queens, Richmond, Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Putnam. from 11 AM to 11 PM EDT Sunday. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The Air Quality Index, or AQI, was created as an easy way to correlate levels of different pollutants to one scale. The higher the AQI value, the greater the health concern. When pollution levels are elevated, the New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. During the operation, 2 retail establishments were cited for selling an alcoholic beverage to an undercover State Police operative under the age of 21.

On Thursday, August 25, 2022, the New York State Police Barracks in East Meadow conducted an Underage Drinker Enforcement Operation in the town of North Hempstead and Oyster Bay.  During the operation, 2 retail establishments were cited for selling an alcoholic beverage to an undercover State Police operative under the age of 21.

Arrested and charged with Unlawful Dealing with a Child in the First Degree and Prohibited Sale of an Alcoholic Beverage was a clerk from 7-11, Old Country Road in Hicksville and a clerk from Green Wine and Liquor, Old Country Road in Hicksville.

The following establishments were also checked and found to be in compliance:

1.) 7-11- Old Country Rd, Westbury, NY

2.) Speedway – 800 Old Country Rd, Westbury, NY

3.)  Bolla Market – Old Country Rd, Hicksville, NY

4.)  Speedway – 540 W Old Country Road, Hicksville, NY

5.)  Exxon – 620 Old Country Road, Hicksville, NY 11801.

6.)  Old Country Liquor – 970 Old Country Road, Westbury, NY

7.)  Sunoco Gas Station – 549 Old Country Road, Westbury, NY

8.)  Shell Gas Station – 515 Old Country Road, Westbury, NY
