Lindenhurst, NY - August 28, 2018 - Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a man riding a motorized scooter in Lindenhurst on August 27, 2018.
 
A man was riding a motorized scooter eastbound on Hoffman Avenue when he was struck by a pickup truck traveling northbound on South Broadway on August 27 at approximately noon.
 
The man on the scooter, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the pickup truck, John Glomann, 62, of Keeseville, N.Y., was alone in the vehicle and not injured.
 
The pickup truck and the scooter were impounded for a safety check. The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
