Blakeman to Cut Ribbon On First New Athletic Complex in 50-Year History of Hempstead High School
Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman joined students at Hempstead High School on Monday, August 28 in opening the first new athletic complex in 50 years; the school will now have completely new athletic field.
A cutting the ribbon on the newly finished facility was held Monday morning 10 a.m. at Hempstead High School, 201 President St. in Hempstead, NY.
In addition to showing off the new field, football, lacrosse and other athletes will run onto the field for the first time, and football players will be the first to practice on the field. Along with new artificial turf, the facility will have night lights, allowing Hempstead to host night games for the first time ever.
