Written by Chris Boyle  |  29. August 2023

Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilman and Deputy Supervisor Dan Panico have announced the completion of two paving projects in Eastport and East Moriches.

Prior to paving, crews completed concrete improvements, inspecting and installing new drains and repairing and replacing damaged concrete curbing, sidewalks and aprons in both paving areas.

Roads resurfaced during these paving projects include Union Avenue from Montauk Highway to Old Country Road in Eastport; and Lincoln Boulevard and North Paquatuck Avenue in East Moriches.

The total cost for the Eastport paving project was approximately $111,000; the total for the East Moriches paving project was approximately $180,500.

Superintendent Losquadro said, “Paving Union Avenue and making it smoother and safer for motorists, as well as ambulances and fire trucks coming to and from the Eastport Fire Department, was a priority this year. Roads in both paving projects had significantly deteriorated over the years and I am grateful we were able to include their resurfacing in our 2023 paving season.”

Councilman Panico said, “Investing in infrastructure for our residents is, and will continue to be, a priority for Brookhaven Town.”
