Nassau County Announced Increased DWI Patrols, Enforcement During Labor Day Holiday Weekend

Nassau County Executive Bruce A. Blakeman and Police Commissioner Patrick J. Ryder announce enhanced patrols to identify and arrest motorists driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol for the Labor Day holiday weekend. 
 
The Nassau County Police Department will be increasing patrols throughout the holiday weekend through Labor Day in order to continue their effort to keep roadways safe and free from intoxicated or impaired drivers.  These heightened patrols will utilize a DWI Enforcement grant from the New York State STOP DWI Program.  
 
The Nassau County Police Department Marine Bureau will also continue with their “Operation Safe Boating” program which will increase patrols during the holiday weekend to detect impaired boat operators and monitor all waterways for reckless behavior.
