Manhasset Gas Station Robbed; Employee Threatened with Handgun and Hit in Face & Stomach

The Major Case Bureau reports a Robbery Arrest of two individuals on Monday, August 29, 2022 in Nassau County.
 
According to Robbery Squad Detectives, three male subjects entered a Shell gas station located at 650 Hillside Avenue in North New Hyde Park at 5:05 am. Defendant Rahquan Brooks, 18, of 3764 Bronx Boulevard, Bronx, NY, a 16-year-old male juvenile and a male subject not yet apprehended, entered the gas station and attempted to gain entry behind the register area which was locked. The three males then proceeded to pull down the plexiglass barrier and the 35-year-old male employee called police, causing the subjects to flee the scene.
 
At 5:30 am the same male subjects entered the BP gas station located at 1 Plandome Road in Manhasset and approached a 48-year-old male employee, threatening him with a handgun. The male employee was hit in the face and punched in the stomach before the three subjects fled the scene in a 2006 Honda Civic, with an undisclosed amount of US currency and personal property belonging to the victim.
 
Responding Officers located the subject’s vehicle and two male suspects fled on foot, the 16-year-old juvenile was arrested at scene without incident. Defendant Rahquan Brooks was then apprehended by Officers and placed under arrest. A subsequent investigation by detectives revealed that the 2006 Honda Civic was a stolen vehicle.
 
Defendant Rahquan Brooks and the Juvenile Defendant are both charged with Robbery 1 st Degree, Robbery 2nd Degree, Attempted Robbery 2nd Degree, Attempted Burglary 3 rd Degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd Degree. Both defendants will be arraigned on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Nassau County First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
 
Defendant Rahquan Brooks was previously arrested by Yonkers Police on August 25, 2022, charged with Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree, Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer and released on August 26, 2022 with no cash bail.
