Hicksville Man Arrested After Chasing, Throwing Beer Bottle at Juvenile Victims During Dispute, Cops Say

The Eighth Squad reports the arrest of a Hicksville man for an incident that occurred on Friday, August 23, 2024 at 11:25 am in Hicksville.
 
According to Detectives, two male juveniles were involved in a dispute with the defendant in front of 180 Division Avenue. The dispute escalated and the defendant, Wesslin Omar Ramirez Castillo, 18, of 206 Division Avenue, chased after the victims and threw a beer bottle at them.
 
The victims fled the scene and were not injured. Subsequent to the investigation, Detectives were able to place the defendant under arrest at his residence on Sunday, September 1, 2024.
 
Defendant Ramirez Castillo is charged with (2) two counts of Attempted Assault 2nd Degree, (2) two counts of Menacing 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree and (2) two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He will be arraigned on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
