Inwood Man Busted in Connection with Series of Larcenies from Parked Vehicles in Woodmere, Cedarhurst

The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of an Inwood man for a Grand Larceny that occurred on Monday, September 2, 2024 at 2:45 a.m. in Woodmere.
 
According to Detectives, Fourth Precinct officers received a 911 call for a larceny from an automobile on Oxford Road in Cedarhurst. During the investigation and subsequent canvass of the area, officers located two individuals on Barnard Avenue and Emmerson Street in Woodmere, the defendant, Shamel Medley, 20, of 385 Bayview Ave, Apt. 4C, and a male juvenile. Defendant Medley was in possession of proceeds belonging to a nearby larceny from auto. 
 
He was placed under arrest and also charged for a larceny of an automobile that occurred om Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. on Jefferson Street in Woodmere, and another larceny from auto that occurred on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 8:00 p.m. on Court Avenue in Cedarhurst. The juvenile male was also arrested for the August 30, 2024 larceny from an automobile. He was recognized from video surveillance footage of that incident.
 
Defendant Shamel Deondre Medley is charged with Grand Larceny 3rd degree, two counts of Grand Larceny 4th degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree, and Identity Theft 3rd degree. The juvenile defendant is charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree. They will be arraigned on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street Hempstead.
