In 2023, visitor spending and tourism-related employment on Long Island grew to $7.5 billion and 76,227 jobs, respectively. Visitor spending in the Long Island region increased by another 13% in 2023 after growing by 14% in 2022.

Over the past 12 months, Nassau County’s hotel occupancy has consistently outperformed the Long Island and national average, boasting a monthly rate of 78.2% year-over-year. Long Island averaged a 71.7% occupancy rate, while nationally, occupancy rates hovered just under 63%. You can see the CoStar report here.

This upward trend is driven by high-profile events, including the ICC T20 Men’s Cricket World Cup, and is expected to continue rising as more major events, including the Ryder Cup, are planned for Nassau in 2025.
