AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 11 PM EDT MONDAY The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following counties: New York, Bronx, Kings, Queens, Richmond, Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Putnam. from 11 AM to 11 PM EDT Sunday. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The Air Quality Index, or AQI, was created as an easy way to correlate levels of different pollutants to one scale. The higher the AQI value, the greater the health concern. When pollution levels are elevated, the New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Suffolk Police Issue Silver Alert For Missing Schizophrenic Bay Shore Woman

Lucia Godoy, 75, was last seen at her home on September 3 at approximately 10 p.m.

SCPD has issued a Silver Alert for Lucia Godoy, 75, a missing Bay Shore woman.

Bay Shore, NY - Sept. 6, 2018 - The Suffolk County Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for a missing Bay Shore woman who is schizophrenic and diabetic.
 
Lucia Godoy, 75, was last seen at her home, located at 1045 Thompson Drive, on September 3 at approximately 10 p.m. Godoy is 5 feet tall, approximately 100 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing multicolored leggings, blue shoes, a loose fitting shirt and a hat with a tiger on it.
 
Anyone with information on Godoy’s location is asked to call 911 or the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
 
As a reminder, Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have been reported missing.
