A proposal submitted to Brookhaven Town outlines plans to subdivide the Pep Boys store at 5184 Nesconset Highway in Port Jefferson Station into two separate businesses. Originally Pep Boys occupied the entire building but has since eliminated much of the use of the interior space.

The application calls for a facade change to add windows and door to the front of the building to allow for a second tenant space. The applicant is KOR Inc c/o King O’rourke Cadillac in Smithtown.

The subdivided stores owned by The Pep Boys will be about 18,223 square feet each. On the project summary it calls for the Pep Boys service center to remain, along with auto parts and tire storage, with a newly remodled waiting area and unisex bathroom for customers.

A wall will be constructed to separate the occupants of the space. There is no tennant for the new space as of yet.
