The new school year is here, and The Salvation Army Hempstead Corps is partnering with Macy’s to make sure that nearly 500 local children return to school with high quality backpacks and school supplies. Along with the back-to-school donation, the Hempstead Corps is hosting a carnival with games, a giant inflatable obstacle course, bouncy house, carnival foods, and more – to give children one last day of summer fun. Kids can also win prizes for the games they play!

Inflation is hurting many families and forcing them to live paycheck to paycheck. This program enables them to give their children the supplies they need as well as the confidence to focus on learning. The donation and carnival is an extension of the work the nonprofit does to support kids’ literacy and development throughout the school year.

The event is set to take place this Saturday, September 10, from 1:00 to 4:00pm at The Salvation Army Hempstead Corps Community Center at 65 Atlantic Ave, Hempstead, NY.
