The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Serious Vehicular Accident that occurred at 4:10pm on Thursday, September 7, 2023 in Plainview.
According to Detectives, Officers responded to a serious vehicular accident that occurred in front of 185 Express Street between a 2020 Chevrolet yellow short bus operated by a sixty-four-year-old female and a white colored 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by a twenty-nine-year-old male.
The operator of the bus was making a u-turn when the operator of the Jeep while traveling north bound, attempted to pass the bus. The front end of the bus struck the passenger rear end of the Jeep causing the Jeep to overturn and roll down the street.
The driver of the Jeep suffered multiple serious trauma injuries and was transported by Nassau County Helicopter 4 to a local area hospital.
The bus driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and did not sustain any injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
