Long Island Nets to Honor Five Nassau and Suffolk County Townships During 2024-25 Season

As part of Township Night games, team invites local students to create and submit t-shirt designs representing their town’s identity; winning concepts to be used in fan giveaways for Township Nights.

The Long Island Nets, NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, will host five Township Nights this season, where they will celebrate various Nassau and Suffolk County towns during select home games at Nassau Coliseum, including:

  • Town of North Hempstead – Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. vs. Maine Celtics
  • Town of Oyster Bay – Dec. 8, at 7 p.m. vs. College Park Skyhawks
  • Town of Huntington – Jan. 6, at 7 p.m. vs. Sioux Falls Skyforce
  • Town of Babylon – Jan. 9, at 7 p.m. vs. College Park Skyhawks
  • Town of Hempstead – March 29, at 7 p.m. vs. Cleveland Charge

As part of the games, the Long Island Nets will highlight local teachers and veterans from the respective townships as part of the team’s Teacher and Veteran of Game initiatives. The form to submit local Nassau and Suffolk County teachers and veterans will be shared at a later date.

Additionally, as part of the five Township Nights, the LI Nets are inviting local Long Island students to create and submit t-shirt designs that represent their town’s identity.  Art teachers from school districts in each area will select one winning concept from each township, with the five winning designs incorporated into fan giveaways during each student’s respective Township Night game. The five students with winning designs will also receive two courtside tickets to attend their respective town’s celebratory game, where they will be recognized on-court.

The t-shirt design contest is a wonderful opportunity for local students to showcase the beauty of their respective communities they come from and we look forward to seeing the submissions.”

Students interested in submitting designs must follow the guidelines below for submission:

  • Designs must be original and may not have been used anywhere else prior
  • Participants must be under the age of 18 and enrolled in a Nassau or Suffolk County-based middle or high school
  • Designs must be up to 10”- 14” tall and 10”-14” wide
  • Designs may not include more than three colors

Design submissions will be accepted beginning today Monday, Sept. 9, at noon and will close on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 11:59 p.m. EST.  Full contest details and submission requirements are available at longislandnets.com.
