The Long Island Museum is thrilled to announce an extraordinary musical event: The Four Seasons of John Monteleone. Join us on Friday, September 20, at 6:30 PM in the Gillespie Room at the Carriage Museum for an unforgettable evening celebrating the artistry of luthier John Monteleone and his season-themed archtop guitars, on loan from The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Acclaimed guitarists Anthony Wilson, Chico Pinheiro, Gregg Belisle-Chi, and Steve Cardenas will unite to perform Seasons: A Song Cycle for Guitar Quartet, featuring these stunning Monteleone guitars. This is a rare opportunity to experience the magnificent sounds of these unique instruments live, brought to life by four of the world's most respected jazz musicians.

In addition to the main performance, enjoy a special opening set by Mafalda Minnozzi with guitarist Paul Ricci. Fresh from their Brazilian and Italian tours, Minnozzi and Ricci will bring a unique blend of Italian melody, European cabaret, and New York City jazz to this exceptional evening.

Currently on view until October 13th in the History Museum of the LIM, the exhibition, Musical Masterworks: John Monteleone’s Guitars and Other Instruments features nearly 50 guitars, mandolins, and other instruments by Monteleone, made between 1971 and 2023, including the famed Four Seasons guitar quartet (2002-2006).

A limited number of tickets were available for a Meet and Greet with the musicians following the performance, but these are now sold out. Tickets for the performance alone are still available and space is limited.
