The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and will be hosting the Ironman Triathlon on Saturday September 28th, 2024, at Jones Beach State Park.
Please be advised that the Wantagh State Parkway will be fully closed (both northbound and southbound lanes) from the Northern State Parkway to Ocean Parkway from 5AM to 3PM to accommodate this event. Within Jones Beach, Bay Parkway will also be closed from 5AM to 3PM as well. Lastly, restrictions will be in place along the multi-use path / bike path within Jones Beach.
The Meadowbrook Parkway, Loop Parkway, Ocean Parkway, and the Robert Moses Parkway are not affected and fully open and available to motorist. Jones Beach State Park will also be open and accessible for beachgoers to enjoy by utilizing Field 4, Field 6, and West End 2.
