Ronkonkoma, NY - Sept. 10, 2018 - Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating an incident in which a 14-year-old bicyclist was killed on Saturday, September 8.
 
Ryan Kiesel was driving a 2001 Jeep southbound on Lakeland Avenue near Union Parkway in Ronkonkoma when the vehicle struck a bicyclist, Davon Mention of Ronkonkoma, 14, at approximately 8:10 p.m. Ryan Reilly, a male passenger in the Jeep, exited the vehicle to assist. Reilly was struck by a 2015 Nissan Altima being driven by Stephen Owenburg. The Nissan then struck the bicyclist. The 14-year-old male bicyclist, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
 
Reilly, 20, of Bohemia was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip with minor injuries. Kiesel, 21, of Sayville and Owenburg, 39, of Ronkonkoma, remained at the scene and were not injured. The vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
