Three Arrested In Connection With Robbery Of Hempstead Residence, Cops Say

Officials: Devon Leake, Cody Hernandez, and Anthony Dickson allegedly broke into a home on Eagle Ave and pointe handguns at the homeowner.

NCPD reports that (L to R) Devon Leake of Jamaica,, 25, Cody Hernandez of Islip Terrace, 25, and Anthony Dickson of Brooklyn 27, were arrested for a robbery in Hempstead.

Hempstead, NY - Sept. 11, 2018 - Robbery Squad detectives report the Arrest of three men for a Robbery that occurred on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 11:20 a.m. in Hempstead.
 
According to detectives, two men entered a residence on Eagle Ave. through a side door. A third male, who was the driver, remained outside in the car. Once inside, they pointed handguns at a 49 year old male victim, forced him to the ground and demanded money. The victim suffered an injury to his knee. When the victim said he didn’t have any money, the subjects fled the scene by unknown automobile in an unknown direction.
 
Upon police arrival, the victim refused medical treatment for his injury.
 
Further investigation led to the arrest of the following individuals:
 
  • Devon Leake, 25, of Jamaica, was arrested on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 4:50 p.m. He is charged with Robbery 1st Degree (Attempt) and Burglary 1st Degree. Leake was arraigned on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.
  • Cody Hernandez, 25, of Islip Terrace, was arrested on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 1:50 p.m. He is charged with Robbery 1st Degree (Attempt) and Burglary 1st Degree. Hernandez was the driver of the getaway vehicle. He was arraigned on Thursday, August 29, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.
  • Anthony Dickson, 27, of Brooklyn, was arrested on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 11:33 p.m. He is charged with Robbery 1st Degree (Attempt) and Burglary 1st Degree. He will be arraigned on Saturday, September 08, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.
