Man Dies After Found On Side Of Sunrise Highway In Sayville, Authorities Report

Officials: David Banks of Bay Shore, 38, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Sayville, NY - Sept. 12, 2018 - Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man who was found on side of the road in Sayville on Tuesday, September 11.
 
A passing motorist called 911 at approximately 5 a.m. to report a man lying on the side of westbound Sunrise Highway, west of Broadway Avenue. The man, David Banks, 38, of Bay Shore, was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead.
 
The man’s cause of death is under investigation. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this incident to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392.
