Queens Man Busted for Multiple Shoplifting Incidents in Nassau County, Possession of Cocaine

The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a Queens man on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 1:40 PM for multiple incidents and Nassau County Local Law 1-2024 Title 90-Mask  Transparency Act that occurred in North Lawrence between July 2024 and September 2024.
 
According to detectives, William Foster, 44, of 5616 Beach Channel Drive, entered Marshalls located at 345 Rockaway Turnpike and proceeded to pass all points of purchase with store merchandise. The defendant exits the store without rendering payment and fled the scene. 
 
A short time later, responding officers located Defendant Foster and placed him under arrest without further incident. Subsequent to the investigation, Defendant Foster was found to be in possession of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine.    
 
During the investigation detectives discovered that Defendant Foster was responsible for the following larcenies that occurred at 345 Rockaway Turnpike: 
 
  • July 20, 2024 – Marshalls
  • August 4, 2024 – DSW
  • August 16, 2024 – Marshalls
  • August 24, 2024- Burlington
 
Further investigation also revealed that on August 24, 2024, Defendant Foster entered Burlington Coat Factory and selected merchandise, passing all points of purchase without rendering payment. When approached by a store employee the defendant displayed a handgun, placing the victim in fear for his life before fleeing the scene. 
 
Defendant William Foster is charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance 5th Degree, Grand Larceny 4th Degree, Title 90- Mask Transparency Act and three (3) counts of Petit Larceny. Defendant Foster also had an open Bench Warrant in Nassau County. He will be arraigned Thursday, September 12, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
