Islip, Ny - September 13th, 2013 - Suffolk County Police today arrested a man who followed a high school student several times this week as she walked to school in Islip.
Islip High School officials contacted police after a 16-year-old female student stated that a man approached her on September 9, September 10 and September 11 as she walked to the school, located at 2508 Union Blvd. The Third Precinct Crime Section set up surveillance and observed a man approach the student today at 7:08 a.m.
Adolfo Diaz, 54, of Central Islip, was arrested and charged with Harassment 1st Degree. He is scheduled to be arraigned at a later date.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
