The Lohans have a way of staying in the news. This time around the media parade wasn’t centered on Lindsay, but instead her mother, Dina Lohan. According to state police the elder Lohan was arrested Thursday night on Long Island and was charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
Lohan, 50, of Merrick, was driving a white BMW on the Northern State Parkway in Oyster Bay at 11 p.m. when she was pulled over. She drove over the speed limit going 77 mph in a 55 mph zone. Once pulled over the officer noticed Lohan was intoxicated.
Lohan was arrested at the scene and charged with a DWI and Aggravated DWI after a breathalyzer test showed her blood alcohol concentration was 20 percent more than twice the legal limit. Lohan was processed in Farmingdale and claimed to be injured in the state police barracks. Officers called an ambulance to have her injuries evaluated. Once emergency personnel found she wasn’t hurt, Lohan took back the injury claim.
She was issued several traffic tickets for speeding and the two DWI offences. She was released to a sober third party three hours later. Dina Lohan is scheduled to appear in the Nassau County First District Court on September 24 at 9 a.m.
This latest development comes just weeks after her daughter Lindsay was released from rehab.
