Multiple Arrests Made at Nassau County Stores for Selling Alcohol, Nicotine to Minors

Second Precinct Problem Oriented Police Officers conducted a Project 21 investigation and report multiple Arrests within the confines of the Second Precinct starting at 7:00pm on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.
 
The Project 21 investigation targets the sale of nicotine and alcohol products sold to underage agents. The agents entered the following establishments where the store employees did not ask for the proper identification and sold nicotine/alcohol products to the Police agents.
  • BP Gas Station located at 300 N. Broadway, Hicksville – Defendant Paramjit Ghotra, 65, of 40 E. Clinton Avenue Roosevelt sold an alcohol product.
  • Express Mini Mart located at 5 Bethpage Road, Hicksville – Defendant Suresh Patel, 53, of 8 Terrace Place Hicksville sold an alcohol product.
  • Mobil Gas Station located at 325 S. Oyster Bay Road, Plainview – Defendant Manoj Shrestha, 35, of 18 Stanley Street Hicksville sold an alcohol product.
Each Defendant is charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 1st Degree and Prohibited Sale of an Alcoholic Beverage. 
 
A Smoke Shop located at 316 N. Broadway, Jericho – Defendant Mohamad Hasan, 62, of 8120 Baxter Avenue Elmhurst sold a tobacco product.  He is charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child and selling Age Restricted Products.
 
All four Defendants were each issued an Appearance Ticket returnable on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 to First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
