SCPD: Ten-Year-Old Boy Seriously Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle at Bus Stop

SCPD are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a 10-year-old pedestrian at a bus stop in Kings Park on Friday, September 15.

Kings Park, NY - September 15, 2017 - Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a 10-year-old pedestrian at a bus stop in Kings Park, New York, on Friday, September 15, 2017.
 
Pasquale Izzo was driving a 1998 Dodge Durango northbound on First Avenue, approaching Carlson Avenue, when he passed a stopped school bus and struck a 10-year-old boy who was crossing First Avenue to get on the bus at 7:54 a.m. The flashing red lights and stop sign on the Kings Park School District school bus were activated.
 
The child was airlifted by Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Izzo, 81, of Kings Park, was not injured.
 
The Dodge was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call Fourth Squad detectives at 631-854-8452.
