Fifth Squad Detective report the arrest of a Valley Stream woman for an Assault that occurred on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 9:20 pm in Valley Stream.
 
According to detectives, officers responded to a 911 call for a disturbance at 7-11 located at 910 W. Merrick Road. Upon arrival, officers were notified about a female eating food and drinking beer without purchasing it. The woman’s conduct took place within the course of three (3) hours.
 
The female was asked multiple times to pay for the merchandise and leave the store. Officer told the woman she needed to pay for the merchandise. She became aggressive and intentionally smashed a 12oz Heineken bottle on the floor. Officer proceeded to place her under arrest when she struck one of the officers in the face causing redness and swelling to his left cheek. Rosemary Garcia, 51, of 53 E. Euclid Avenue was subdued and placed under arrest.
 
Defendant Garcia is charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Criminal Mischief 4th Degree, Petit Larceny and Obstructing a Governmental Administration. She will be arraigned on  Thursday, September 15, 2022 at First District Court, Hempstaed.
