Fire Reported at Structure on Old Kings Park Psychiatric Center Grounds on Friday Night

Several 911 calls were made at around 11:30 pm, according to Suffolk County Police.

A fire was reported at Nissequogue River State Park around 11:30 pm on Friday night in a structure that is on the grounds of the old Kings Park Psychiatric Center, according to police.

 

Suffolk County Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services (FRES) said that the Kings Park Fire Department responded to 799 Saint Johnland Road at about 11:45 pm with six other departments giving mutual aid for the structure fire. No word yet on which exact building was on fire.

 

There were no injuries during the fire and according to Suffolk FRES, the fire was brought under control at around 1am on Saturday morning. Units stayed on site until about 2 am.

 

Arson investigators were brought in but no determination for the cause of the fire has been made as of yet.
