The Third Squad reports the arrest of an East Meadow man at 11:00 pm on Sunday, September 17, 2023 in East Meadow.
According to detectives, officers responded to the Nassau University Medical Center located at 2201 Hempstead Turnpike where a female victim, a registered nurse, 35, was performing her duties to care for Defendant Fidel Velasquez, 36, of 1650 Hempstead Turnpike.
Defendant Velasquez became combative and kicked the victim multiple times in her right arm causing substantial pain and minor bruising. Victim was evaluated and treated by hospital staff at scene. Officers arrested the defendant without further incident.
Defendant Fidel Velasquez is charged with Assault 2nd Degree and will be arraigned when medically practical.
