Police: Teen Arrested for Attempted Knifepoint Robbery of Lindenhurst Gas Station

Lindenhurst, NY - Sept. 19, 2018 - Suffolk County Police today arrested a man for attempting to rob a gas station in Lindenhurst earlier this month.
 
Donald Duffey entered Ultra gas station, located at 571 West Montauk Highway, on September 4, at approximately 3:05 p.m., displayed a knife and demanded money. When the employee refused, Duffey attempted to take money from the register. The employee then swung a metal stool at Duffey, who fled on foot with no proceeds.
 
First Squad detectives arrested Duffey today in Amityville Harbor at approximately 5 p.m.
 
Duffey, 18, of Amityville Harbor, was charged with Attempted Robbery First Degree. He will be held overnight at the First Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on September 19.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
