Latin Kings Gang Member Arrested for Gunpoint Burglary of Westbury Home, Cops Say

Officials: Julio Vasquez of Connecticut, 24, and two other individuals forced their way into a residence and held a victim at gunpoint while they stole items.

Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Connecticut man for a Burglary that originally occurred on July 26, 2018 at 4:22 pm in Westbury.
 
According to Gang Investigations Squad Detectives, the male victim, 50, opened his front door after hearing the doorbell and observed three unknown males. The men were looking for a male who rented a room at the location. The victim explained he was not home and the three subjects forced their way into the house. Once inside, two of the subjects displayed handguns and forced the victim to the floor. The first subject stayed with the victim and the other two subjects went into a bedroom. A short time later, the men exited the bedroom and all three subjects left the house. The victim went into the bedroom and noticed a television and gaming console were missing.
 
A thorough investigation was conducted and Julio Vasquez, 24, was arrested for the above crime. Julio Vasquez is a Latin Kings Gang member. Vasquez held the victim at gun point while the other two subjects (not yet apprehended) entered the bedroom.
 
Defendant Vasquez is charged with Burglary 1st Degree, Burglary 2nd Degree, two (2) counts of Robbery 1st Degree, Robbery 2nd Degree, Criminal use of a Firearm 1st Degree and Criminal use of a Firearm 2nd Degree.  He will be arraigned on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
