Ruskin Moscou Faltischek P.C., is pleased to welcome seven new attorneys to the firm. Joining the team are Partners Doug Wasser and Adam Russ, Of Counsel Adam Rosen, and Associates Brittany Adikes, Tyla Phillip, Jacqueline Fink, and Madison Scarfaro. Mr. Wasser and Mr. Russ were previously Founding Partners of Wasser & Russ, LLP. Mr. Wasser has joined the firm’s Real Estate Department and Fine Art Law Practice Group, while Mr. Russ has joined the firm’s Commercial Litigation, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Insurance & Insurance Litigation departments, along with the Fine Art Law Practice Group. Mr. Rosen has joined the firm’s Financial Services, Banking & Bankruptcy Department and the Corporate Restructuring & Bankruptcy Practice Group.

Returning as first-year associates are Ms. Phillip, Ms. Fink, and Ms. Scarfaro, all of whom previously interned as Summer Associates at the firm. Ms. Fink and Ms. Scarfaro, who interned in 2023, will rotate through the firm’s six core departments, while Ms. Phillip, who interned in both 2022 and 2023, will join the Health Law Department. Ms. Adikes has joined the firm’s Commercial Litigation Department and Cannabis Law Practice Group.

With over 40 years of extensive real estate and general business law experience, Mr. Wasser represents parties who are leasing or subleasing office space. Mr. Wasser has helped international conglomerates, owners and operators of hotels, office buildings, apartment buildings, former factories, airport hangars, hospitals, academic campuses, warehouses as well as medical and dental practices, law firms, small and medium sized businesses with any number of issues, including co-op/condo management relations, elections, common area sales and more.

Mr. Russ litigates vexing and sensitive business and legal problems and disputes. He helps clients in complex contract and commercial disputes before state and federal courts, arbitration tribunals, and mediators throughout the United States. Mr. Russ has litigated, tried, arbitrated, and mediated insurance and reinsurance disputes, insurance runoff and agency disputes, fine art title, ownership and authenticity disputes, business torts, declaratory actions, bad faith and insurance coverage claims. Mr. Russ has prosecuted and defended actions for clients in a variety of industries, including insurance, fine art dealers/auctions/collectors, electronics, technology, manufacturing, banking and financial, healthcare, real-estate, construction, and sanitation. In addition to his litigation and ADR practice, Mr. Russ also advises and represents clients in connection with commercial and business transactions. He is also approved and designated by the New York Supreme Court, Nassau County to serve as a mediator on the official roster of the Nassau County Commercial Division ADR Program pursuant to Part 146 of the Rules of the Chief Administrative Judge and is an active board member and Secretary of the Board of Directors of Sunrise Association.

Mr. Wasser and Mr. Russ represented the world’s largest auction house for many years. They represent all parties in the fine art world, including auction houses, investors, collectors, estate and trust fiduciaries, advisors, artists, galleries, and others in connection with all aspects of fine art disputes and transactions.

With over 35 years of experience, including representing public and private companies, trustees, receivers, creditors, insurance companies and other financial institutions, Mr. Rosen is recognized for his ability to find unique, business-oriented solutions to complex insolvency problems. His experience includes middle-market cases, as well as several of the largest chapter 11 cases, including Madoff Securities, Toys r Us, Neiman Marcus, WeWork, Rite-Aid, FTX Trading Ltd., and LATAM Airlines. Mr. Rosen has authored or co-authored several articles and outlines involving bankruptcy and restructuring issues and is a contributing author to the “Collier Practice Guide” bankruptcy treatise. He is an American College of Bankruptcy fellow and, from 2001 to 2018, was an adjunct professor of law at the St. John’s School of Law (LLM Program). For many years, Mr. Rosen has been recognized as a leading practioner by Super Lawyers, and has the highest rating awarded by Martindale-Hubble.

Ms. Adikes focuses her practice on complex commercial and civil litigation matters. Prior to joining RMF, Ms. Adikes was a member of the Cannabis Practice Group at a nationwide law firm, assisting businesses and individuals in the hemp and marijuana industries on litigation, regulatory, and corporate matters across multiple states. Ms. Adikes’ experience includes matters such as contract disputes, partnership disputes, trademark and IP infringement, licensing, regulatory compliance, construction related matters, general/professional liability defense, and catastrophic injuries. MS. Adikes received her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law through the advanced combined degree program, during which time she served as a law clerk for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Federal Aviation Administration. Ms. Adikes is admitted to practice law in the courts of New York State and Oregon State, as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Oregon.

Ms. Phillip received her Juris Doctor from Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. Upon graduation, Tyla received an award For Exemplary Contributions to the Quality of Student Life as well as the Martin Schwartz Award for Excellence in Civil Rights. Tyla was also selected as a 2024 Pro Bono scholar and spent her last semester at the Legal Aid Society of Nassau County in their Juvenile Defense Bureau. During Law school, Tyla was a member of the Trial Advocacy Practice Society as well as the Co-President of the Black Law Students Association. Tyla also served on the board of the Northeast Region of the National Black Law Students Association as the Director of Membership. In addition, Tyla has twice interned with Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. Prior to law school, she served as an AmeriCorps Legal Advocate working with victims of human trafficking at the Boston University School of Law Immigrants’ Rights and Human Trafficking Clinic. Tyla is also an alumna of Boston University where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from the Frederick Pardee School of Global studies.

Ms. Fink received her Juris Doctor from Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, where she received the 2024 Outstanding Law Student Award from the National Association of Women’s Lawyers. During her time at Touro Law, she served as the President of the Federal Bar Association, Law Student Division, Vice President of the Touro Tax Law Society, and Project Director for the International Refugee Assistance Project, Student Division. In addition to her student leadership roles, she worked in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Clinic, where she was an advanced tax preparer and helped low-income and elderly individuals prepare their taxes. Ms. Fink was an active member of the Touro Law Review, where she served as a Research Editor and Online Editor. Prior to graduation, she published her Note, “Imminence Should Not Be a Controlling Factor in the Duress Defense in the Context of Battered Women” in Volume 39, Issue 2 of the Law Review. Prior to joining RMF, Ms. Fink interned for Magistrate Judge James M. Wicks in the Eastern District of New York, Nassau County Attorney’s Office, and United States Attorney’s Office in both their Criminal and Civil Divisions. Ms. Fink was selected as a 2024 Pro Bono Scholar and spent her last semester working with Federal Defenders in Central Islip, where she assisted attorneys in federal criminal matters. Ms. Fink is excited to once again work with Magistrate Judge Wicks as his clerk in the spring of 2025.

Ms. Scarfaro received her Juris Doctor from Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center on Long Island, where she graduated as Salutatorian, Summa Cum Laude, and received the Dean Emeritus Howard A. Glickstein Award for Outstanding Leadership and Overall Academic Excellence. Ms. Scarfaro also graduated as a 2024 Pro Bono Scholar, and spent her final semester of law school working with the Federal Defenders of the Eastern District of New York. During law school, Ms. Scarfaro served as Business Editor of The Touro Law Review and also served as President of the Women’s Bar Association, Vice President of the Public Interest Law Organization, Vice President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Organization, Student Liaison to the Suffolk County Women in the Courts Committee, and Student Member of the Theodore Roosevelt Inn of Court. Prior to joining RMF, Ms. Scarfaro spent her first summer after law school interning with Roc Nation’s Sports Legal Department and also completed an externship with the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of New York and an internship with Warner Music Group’s Corporate Legal Department. Ms. Scarfaro was a pro bono volunteer for New Hour for Women and Children and she volunteered for Breaking Barriers, a student-run project dedicated to removing barriers to employment and education for those who were incarcerated and/or convicted of crimes. Ms. Scarfaro is also a founding member of Lehigh Valley Anti-Trafficking Awareness Week. She also volunteers for the Michael Ann & Saquon Barkley Hope Foundation. Prior to law school, Ms. Scarfaro worked as a Field Director for Marsy’s Law for Pennsylvania, an advocacy campaign and ballot initiative to give crime survivors and victims enforceable constitutional rights in the Pennsylvania constitution and served as a Communications Director for a Pennsylvania State Senator.
