Police: Man Arrested for Stalking Teens Girls, Attempting to Pull One into His Van

Babylon, NY - Sept. 20, 2018 - Suffolk County Police have arrested a West Babylon man Tuesday, September 18 for following two girls on two separate occasions and attempting to pull one of the teens into his van.
 
Marwan Hanna was driving his 1997 Ford van on Main Street in Babylon on August 22 at approximately 7:15 p.m. when he followed a 14-year-old girl. Hanna was confronted by a Good Samaritan and fled the scene.
 
Hanna followed another 14-year-old girl in the parking lot of 501 Montauk Highway in West Babylon on September 7 at approximately 3:15 p.m. Hanna approached the girl and asked if she wanted a ride. He then demanded she get into the van. Hanna tried to grab the girl but she was able to escape.
 
Following an investigation by First Precinct Crime Section officers, Hanna, 59, was arrested at his home on September 18 at approximately 10:30 p.m. Hanna was charged with two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip.
 
Officers are asking anyone who might have been a victim of Hanna to contact the First Precinct Crime Section at 631-854-8126.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
